About Us
Rocky Mountain Battle Buddies was formed in June 2020 in Denver Colorado. The group started originally as a puppy raising group for the non-profit organization, United States Veterans Service Dogs. A second group was formed in 2021 in Colorado Springs. Both groups consist of puppy raisers and puppy sitters. Each group meets twice per month. One meeting is a teaching meeting to learn how to teach various commands/skills and to troubleshoot any issues the raisers might be having. The other meeting is a group outing to expose the puppies to new environments.
Our RMBB Colorado groups have been extremely successful with raising service dogs for US Veterans Service Dogs with an 88% graduation rate among the dogs raised in our group. This is due to the dogs getting to experience many different handles, households, environments all while maintaining consistent commands and expectations.
We also have puppy raisers who live in other states but these dogs are placed on a case by case basis depending on the potential handler experience.
Linnea Edwards - Owner/Head Trainer
Linnea began her puppy raising/dog training journey as a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind back in 2015. She raised four dogs for GDB, three of which have been placed as service dogs. She moved over to US Veterans Service dogs in 2020 to work with a cause that was very near and dear to her heart as her significant other is a three time combat veteran with the US Marine Corps. Linnea started both the Denver and Colorado Springs groups and runs the training sessions/group outings. She lives on a ranch in Fountain Colorado with horses, goats, dogs, and a cat.
